We are a family of 4 living in Twickenham, the UK. Simon is originally from Birmingham, whilst Lisa is from The Sunshine Coast in Australia. We both love sunshine, food and wine, and the South of France.
As a young child Simon’s family took several camping holidays close to Cannes and Grasse during the 1970’s and he remembers them vividly. Once, he was in St Tropez when an elegant woman in an open top sports car drove past with a big cat sitting on the boot luggage rack! But, whilst the Cote d’Azur and Cannes area is now heavily built up, the Var region is still completely unspoilt and typically Provencal.
When we bought Villa des Cyprés both our young children were still at local schools in the UK and we have seen them play and grow up around the Villa on the many holidays we have taken there. They are now at work and at University but still come on holidays with us to this captivating part of the world.
Simon and Lisa took several years to find their perfect place, and there were some big bumps along the road to finally purchasing the brand new Villa (a long story!) – but it was worth the wait. Lisa knew it was right when she saw the views for the first time – and it still makes us realise how lucky we are to be able to return there as often as possible.
